Irrigation

Our lucerne is grown under linear move spray irrigators. This allows us to give the growing lucerne just the right amount of water in each of the three waterings per cut. Spray irrigation conserves water (better for the environment and the bank balance) increases stand life and makes for cleaner weed free hay. Water is pumped out of Broken Creek for our irrigation. The Broken Creek is part of the Shepparton Irrigation Region, the food bowl of Australia. It is also one of the best Murray Cod angling streams in Victoria (not a bad pastime while waiting for hay to cure).
